NPFL Week 27 games review: ‎Rangers go on top as Wikki stumble

Akwa United 2-3 Enugu Rangers

Akwa united suffered a defeat at their home ground to Enugu Rangers on
Saturday evening. They lost at home 2-3 at the nest of champions which
leaves them 8th on the log after 27 matches played so far.Enugu rangers
moved to the top of the table with a convincing win over the uyo boys,it
was a vital win for the flying antelopes,because they needed to be
getting results away from home.They now sit on top of the table with 46
points,2 points ahead their closest rival Wikki Tourists.

Nassarawa United vs Sunshine Stars

Nassarawa bounced back from last week’s defeat to shooting stars by
beating Sunshine stars 3 goals to nil in grand style at their home
ground in Lafia.The win sees them 11th on the log with 36
points.Sunshine Stars returned to action this week with a bitter manner
by losing 3 0 to Nassarawa united,but even with the loss,they still
remain ahead of Nassarawa united on the table with goals difference.They
stay 7th on the log.

Enyimba FC 2-1 Kano Pillars 

The Enyimba vs pillars game was the biggest game in the #NPFL this
weekend,due to the rivalry and excitement it has brought over the
years,and it certainly proved that again when the both sides met on
Sunday at the yakubu Gowon stadium,Enyimba’s adopted home ground with
three goals in the game. Enyimba won 2 goals to 1 at home against
pillars,which made them complete the double over pillars this
season.Enyimba now sit 4th on the log with 40 points,6 behind table
toppers Enugu Rangers,with them having 2 outstanding games.Kano pillars
looked like they could get something out of the game,when Adamu Mohammed
canceled out Enyimba’s first goal immediately after they scored,but
they were only able to score,they could not even get a point.That loss
place them 5th on the log with 39 points.

Rivers United 2-0 Shooting Stars

Rivers united vs shooting stars game was more of a replay after both
sides faced each other in the Federation’s Cup earlier in the week,with
Rivers coming out top after penalties. Rivers repeated that at home
again, beating the Oluyole warriors at home and in the presence of the
state Governor 2-0.Rivers united remain third on the log with 44
points.Only goals difference separates them and Wikki Tourists,with them
still having an outstanding game.Shooting stars continue to try to stay
off relegation,but they lost against Rivers which place them 17th on
the table.

MFM FC 2-0 Heartland FC

MFM defeated Heartland of Owerii 2 goals to nil,at the Agege stadium
even without the fans,because the game was played behind closed doors,so
they are placed 9th on the log with an outstanding game for
them. Heartland continue to battle relegation,they are 18th on the table
as things stand.

Ifeanyi Ubah FC 1-0 El Kanemi Warriors

The ubah boys got a one nil victory at home against a boastful El Kanemi
side,and they are 10th on the log right now. El kanemi warriors are
placed 13th on the table after the loss to the ubah boys.

Abia Warriors 1-0 Warri Wolves

Abia warriors ended their four games run without a win against Warri
wolves.They beat Warri Wolves 1-0 at home,and are 12th on the
table.Warri wolves continue to show their inconsistency after they were
beaten by Abia warriors and they  are 15th on the log with 31 points
just 1 point above the relegation zone,which is a dangerous position for
them.

Lobi Stars 1-0 Plateau united

Lobi looked like they were not going to get three points from the
game,when they missed a chance to go ahead from the penalty spot in the
first half until they got a late second half winner,and they now sit 6th
on the table with 38 points.Plateau united had gotten four points into
their last two games before this,but they could only lose to Lobi which
place them 16th on the log, with 30 points,they are just above the
relegation zone with goals difference.

Niger Tornadoes 1-1 Wikki Tourists

Niger Tornadoes vs Wikki was the only game of the weekend with a
draw,Wikki had to come back to pull a draw later in the game. Wikki
dropped to 2nd place after the draw with 44 points leaving them 2 points
behind league leaders Enugu Rangers, Niger Tornadoes could not hold on
to their 1-0 lead as they made Wikki pull a draw. The draw places them
14th on the table with 33 points.
