I Will Up My Game Under Guardiola – Iheanacho

Super Eagles midfielder, Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed that he’s
willing to up his game under Manchester City manager, Pep as they
prepare for their preseason campaign.
Iheanacho who has been
touted to play an integral role under Guardiola regardless of who the
club signs ahead of the new season, revealed that he’s relishing the
opportunity of keying into Guardiola’s plan.
“Everyone knows Pep
and what he can do. I think he is a great manager and I think he will
bring many things to this team,’ Iheanacho added.
“I can play
number 9, 10, 7 and 11 as well so I don’t have any… I can play different
positions. Anywhere I can fit in, I will play.
“I am happy with
what I did last season and now I have to work really hard this season to
get something for the team and work for the team as well.’
The
Super Eagles star is expected to miss next month’s Rio Olympic Games in
Brazil as the Citizens are poise to retain the trophy from last season’s
Premier League winner, Leicester City.
He was also part of the
players that unveiled Manchester City’s new Nike home kit along with
their manager Pep Guardiola on Sunday.
‘If your country wants to play for them you surely have to go so, but it’s not up for me to decide,’ he said.
‘I don’t know if they have decided – my team and my country, I don’t know if they have concluded or not.’
