The Nigeria U-23 team, the Dream Team VI ended their campaign at the Suwon Invitational Tournament on a winning note; beating Honduras 3-1 early Monday morning.
Following back-to-back losses to hosts, South Korea and Denmark, Coach Samson Siasia’s side needed victory badly to save face and they did that on Monday even though they started from behind.
Alberth Elis fired Honduras into the lead in the 17th minute and it was already looking like another bad day in the office for the Nigeria U23s.
The Rio-bound team waited to the hour-mark before they could restore parity and it was captain Azubuike Okechukwu who got the equalising goal.
The Nigeria team got in front in the 69th minute when Godwin Saviour scored from the spot after Ndifreke was fouled in the penalty box.
With the three minutes left on the clock the Dream Team VI ensured that there was no coming back fortheir opponets as they added one more goal to end the tie 3-1.
