MFM FC Fined N2m, To Play 3 Home Games Behind Closed Doors

Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC has beenfined the sum of N2 million by the League Management Company (LMC) for crowd trouble inthe game against Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan at the Agege Stadium last Sunday in Lagos.
In addition to the fine, the team is also expected to play their next three home matches behind closed doors, according to the LMC ruling on Wednesday.
‘The Olukoya Boys’ as they are fondly called lost the game 1-0 to the Oluyole Warlords, but some angry fans took to the pitch to stop proceedings, except for the intervention of the police and other security agents before game resumed again at the centre.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick was also present at the centre when the ugly incident happened, and Pinnick had promised that he would recommend some punishment to MFM FC, for their failure to control their fans during the match. The team currently has 30 points from 21 games in the current season.
