Barça will activate the buy-back clause in Denis Suarez’s contract |
FC Barcelona have announced on their official website that they will bring current Villarreal attacker Denis Suarez back to Catalonia this summer after the Spaniard left two years ago to seek new opportunities elsewhere.
Denis Suarez joined FC Barcelona from Manchester City in 2013 and featured for the B-team as a 19-year old. He featured in 36 games for Barcelona B in the Segunda Division scoring 7 goals and creating 10 others. His promising first season in Spain meant a host of top clubs in Europe sought for his signature and he would join Sevilla on loan. However, after a year with Sevilla his deal was terminated which saw him join Villarreal in the summer of 2015.
Denis Suarez has since grown into a top talent and Barcelona included a clause in his contract that allowed them to buy him back this summer and after a decent season with the Yellow Submarines, Barça have decided to exercise their right to purchase him back and will notify Villarreal for the deal to take place on July 1.
Denis Suarez is a versatile attacker who plays mainly as an attacking midfielder, he can play in both sides and isn’t shy of beating his marker and taking a shot at goal. He can also play as a winger which means he could reduce the huge load on the MSN from next season. He played in 46 games for Sevilla scoring six goals and assisting five and also featured 48 times for Villarreal scoring 5 times and assisting 11. The fee of his transfer is likely to be €3.5million.
