Ivory Coast coach Michel Dussuyer has named a strong 23-man squad for CHAN 2016 that is set for January 16-February 7 in Rwanda.
The Frenchman made a surprise inclusion of second division defender Kouassi Diallo Romuald who features for Abidjan-based side Williamsville Athletic Club. Romuald is the only player who features for a team outside the Ivorian first division.
Les Elephants are camping in South Africa where they will play two friendly games against Guinea on January 8 and Nigeria on January 11 as they prepare to take on hosts Rwanda in the opening game of the biennial tournament.
Ivory Coast is in Group A along with Gabon, Morocco and hosts Rwanda as Les Elephants make their third appearance at Chan having hosted the inaugural edition in 2009 and competed in Sudan at the 2011 edition.
