Alex Iwobi Set To Leave Arsenal on Loan

Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi has been linked with a move away from Emirates stadium, with Reading FC being a likely destination.

According to a report on Daily Mail, 19-year-old Iwobi is in talks with Arsenal for a possible move to Madejski Stadium, home ground of Reading.

Iwobi, the nephew of Nigeria legend Jay-Jay Okocha, has represented England at under 16, 17 and 18 levels but opted to play for Nigeria, the country of his birth.
After his debut against Congo DR in a friendly game, Iwobi committed his future to the Super Eagles and hopes for a long career.

The 19-year-old also revealed he’s looking to follow in the footsteps of his uncle and former Nigeria captain Austin Jay-Jay Okocha.

The Lagos-born youngster had set his sights on breaking into Arsene Wenger’s first team squad after penning a new deal with Arsenal last year.

He has played five times for the Arsenal’s first team this season, including in the 5-1 defeat by Bayern Munich in the Champions League last November.
