Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala has expressed her excitements after getting her first goal for Liverpool Ladies in their 4-1 friendly victory over Aston Villa Ladies on Sunday.
The Nigerian international joined the reigning English Women’s Super League champions on Friday and made an unofficial debut for her new team at the Select Security Stadium.
The hardworking player got the second goal of the rout in the 12th minute when she finished off a perfect team move.
“Great win and team work today (Sunday), 4-1 victory over Aston Villa Ladies. I thank Allah for giving me a goal on my debut,” the former Rivers Angels attacker wrote on her facebook page.
The Super Falcon played for Rivers Angels in Nigeria last season and had a remarkable 2014, where she led the Nigerian U20 women’s team to a second place finish at the 2014 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, emerging as the Most Valuable Player.
The FC Robo product also helped the Nigerian senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons to win the 2014 Africa Women Championship, also emerging as the Most Valuable Player.
She was crowned the best player in Africa on January 8, during the 2014 CAF African player of the year award ceremony. She was also crowned as the best young player on the continent.
