Chelsea and Manchester City have both been linked with an ambitious move to sign Atletico Madrid playmaker Koke, though they could both face competition from Barcelona, according to talkSPORT.
The 22-year-old Spaniard has been in terrific form in the last couple of years, contributing greatly in terms of goals and assists to earn comparisons with Barca living legend, Xavi.
Koke could now be in line to replace the legendary midfielder at the Nou Camp but it won’t be that easy and smooth for the Catalans as Chelsea and City are also keen to snap up the ‘masterful assistor’ and may consider meeting his £55m release clause at the Vicente Calderon.
Barcelona seem to be in pole position to sign the midfielder who would love to continue his career in spain but the move may be hampered by their ongoing transfer ban.
Chelsea would want to reunite the playmaker with his former teammates in Thibaut Courtois, Diego Costa and Felipe Luis while City may just snap him up by offering an unrejectable fee.
