Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has affirmed that his prepared to do all it takes to ensure that Nigeria defeat West-African rivals Ghana and claim the ticket to the World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana welcome Nigeria to Kumasi on the 25th of this month before they come to Abuja four days later.
Both sides have contrasting fortunes going into the tie. While The Super Eagles can boast of one of the most gifted set of stars in Africa, the Ghanaians are looking to rebuild the team.
On paper, the Super Eagles are favourites based on talent, but as it is a derby between two of the best teams from West Africa, the game promises to be a tough one.
However, Bassey is prepared for the test and has stated his readiness to ensure that Nigeria comes out on top at the end.
“It’s a massive game. I’m just focusing on how I can help the team, focus on how I can help the team, focus on what to do, what my roles are going to be,” Bassey told NFF TV.
“It is going to be a test, we know they are a good team, we also have good players and a good team
“It will be a good match, and hopefully, we can win the tie.”
Bassey is yet to make his debut for the Super Eagles, but he could get his chance to don the green and white when Nigeria lock horns with Ghana.
