The Nigerian international tasted back in action in the Scottish Premiership, and it appears as he has never been away
Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo delivered an eye-catching performance as Rangers were held to a thrilling 3-3 draw away to Ross County on Saturday afternoon.
In only his first game since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations, Aribo was lively in the opening stages, and he gave the assist to Amad Diallo’s opening goal after just five minutes.
The Nigerian star broke forward before guiding a low ball across the face of the goal allowing the Manchester United loanee to finish the move with the easiest of tap-ins to open his Gers account.
But the home side twice stunned the league leaders before the break. First goalkeeper Allan McGregor fumbled for Jordan White to level before Regan Charles-Cook scored the hosts’ second moments later.
The champions came out of the dressing room a different beast, and James Tavernier drew them level shortly after following good work from Ryan Kent and Diallo.
Aribo nearly got the Light Blues back in front after he sensationally found his way to the baseline before setting the ball on a plate for Cedric Itten. But the ball was nipped off the striker’s toes just before striking at goal.
The league leaders eventually regained the lead that their second-half performance merited through a Connor Goldson header in the 72nd minute.
But Matthew Wright’s stoppage-time strike earned a share of the spoils for the impressive home side.
