The new Super Eagles star opened his account on Friday, but he could miss his side’s matchday three encounter the Ligue 1
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi suffered an injury in the second half of Lorient’s 1-0 win over Monaco at the Stade Yves Allainmat – Le Moustoir in Lorient and missed his side’s first training on Tuesday since that impressive victory.
After firing blanks in the 1-1 draw at Saint Etienne on the opening weekend of the French league, Moffi inspired Les Merlus to their first victory of the season against Niko Kovac’s men.
Moffi won the penalty, dusted himself up and slammed his kick past the opposing goalkeeper on the hour-mark for the only goal of the encounter and Lorient’s first three points of the campaign.
But the former Kortrijk ace suffered a knock in his knee and was replaced in the 85th minute by Adrian Grbic.
The 22-year-old could not join his mates on the training pitch on Tuesday, but it’s an injury that is not expected to keep him out of action for long.
And according to Ouest-France, Moffi should be well enough to join in Lorient’s training on Thursday, three days before their trip to Montpellier for a matchday three clash.
Moffi is one of Lorient’s most influential stars, emerging as the club’s leading goalscorer in his debut season with 14 league goals.
