Barcelona have confirmed that they are expecting a record turnover of €897 million for the 2017/18 season which would be a record for any football club.
Barcelona announced in a statement on Thursday of their expected income, one that will certainly stun any football world.
“The board have approved a budget for the 2017/18 season that reflects an expected record income of 897 million euros,” the statement read.
Obviously, that has been boosted by the sale of Neymar Jr in which they received £198million after his move to Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain.
The Brazilian superstar wanted to move away from Nou Camp for new challenges in football and the dethroned Ligue 1 champions PSG offered him just that, as well as a huge contract and pay rise.
That no doubt had a huge effect on Barcelona’s finances, but the club did pay a huge fee to take Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund.
The Frenchman could cost the Catalan giants a total of €160million according to some reports and that will no doubt be a big hit.
But regardless, the side are well on track and are expected to smash a club record turnover that would make any club in the world proud.
Barcelona will continue growth means that the club are set to reach their target turnover of one billion euros by 2021.
