Super Eagles and OGC Nice striker, Teremas Igobor Moffi, scored his 50th French League goal in his side’s defeat to relegation-threatened Nantes, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 24-year-old forward joined OGC Nice from F.C. Lorient in January 2023, after spending three years at Le FCL Les tangos et noirs where he made himself a household name, scoring 34 goals in 84 games.
After scoring 6 in his debut season with Nice, the former Riteriai man hit double digits in the French top flight this term, in just 23 outings.
A well-laced cross from Kevin Amian was met by Matthis Albine who tapped the ball home to break the deadlock at the Allianz Riviera.
The hosts got a chance to level the scores in the 68th minute when Pedro Chirivella was stuffed in the neck by Jordan Lotomba, resulting in a protest from each side, and leading to the intervention of the VAR. The advantage went to the home side and Murphy stepped up to disperse the resulting spot-kick.
Just like he did at the AFCON 2023 semi-final against South Africa, Moffi sent his penalty down the middle, with Nantes goalkeeper, Albane LaFont, diving to the left. The goal was his 50th Ligue 1 goal and it took him 126 games to achieve the feat.

Ten minutes later Antoine Mendy conceded a foul in Nice’s box, resulting in a penalty. Mostafa Mohammed stepped up to take the penalty and buried it into the bottom left corner to seal all three points for Antoine Koumbare’s men.
The loss means Moffi’s Nice drop down to 5th, three points below Lille, and 19 points behind League leaders, Paris Saint-Germain.
