Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has attracted interest from some English Premier League clubs following his impressive first half of the season at Belgian Jupiler Pro League club Genk, Soccernet.ng reports.
Arokodare has enjoyed a significant uptrend at Genk this season. The big 24-year-old striker joined the Smurfs in January 2023 as a replacement for Paul Onuachu who had left for Southampton.
In his first season full season, he struggled to adapt to life in Belgium, registering eight goals and three assists in 29 games. But it was not good enough.
However, this season, he has started to prove his mettle. He has produced 13 goals and five assists in 19 appearances for Genk, helping them to the top of the table. He has contributed to almost half of his side’s league goals this season. He also leads the Jupiler Pro League goalscorers’ chart.
Arokodare’s performances have caught the eyes of some clubs in Europe. And according to Voetbal Primeur, some Premier League clubs are monitoring his progress.
If the 24-year-old striker continues at his current pace, he could just get a move to a club in one of the top five European leagues.
Nevertheless, Arokodare still has just over two years left on his contract at Genk, and he will be looking to improve on his game so he help his side win silverware.
