“I scored the Scudetto goal” – Victor Osimhen’s first words after inspiring Napoli to historic win

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has spoken out for the first time about his historic achievement after scoring the goal that secured Napoli’s first league title in 33 years.

Speaking to Sky Sport, Osimhen expressed his joy at helping the team secure their long-awaited Scudetto.

“I’m thrilled with this victory,” he said. “I’m happy for me, for the team, and for the fans. I can’t wait to come back and embrace our fans, even though tonight I already felt the warmth of the people. I’m happy for all the Neapolitans.”

Osimhen went on to discuss his goal, which ultimately secured the title for Napoli.

“I scored the Scudetto goal, it’s true, but anyone else could have scored it,” he said.

The Nigerian forward joined Napoli from French side Lille in the summer of 2020 and has been a key player for the club this season. His goal against Udinese in the 53rd minute secured Napoli’s third Serie A title and their first in 33 years, with five games remaining in the season.

Osimhen’s comments highlight his team-first mentality and his appreciation for the support of the Neapolitan fans.

He also expressed his eagerness to celebrate the victory with the supporters, saying, “I can’t wait to come back and embrace our fans.”

Napoli’s triumph marks a significant moment in the club’s history and one that will be remembered for years to come.

Osimhen’s role in securing the title will undoubtedly earn him a place in the hearts of the Neapolitan faithful.
