The two French teams already have Nigerians in their squad, but they have picked interest in another Nigerian player.
Nantes and Lorient are interested in securing the services of Nigeria international Chidozie Awaziem from Boavista.
According to reports from Footballmercato, the two teams are interested in securing the services of the 24-year-old on a season-long loan.
The Super Eagles defender has a lot of experience, playing in the Portuguese and Spanish leagues. Awaziem also played for Nantes three seasons ago on one of his loan stints.
Awaziem played for Boavista last season, making 27 appearances and helping his side to a 13th place finish in the Primera Liga. His performances impressed Boavista, and they signed him permanently.
Awaziem continued his excellent form this season, and he has already made two appearances in all competitions.
The transfer market closes in less than two days, and it means that the two French clubs need to work faster to secure the services of their target.
