Leicester City Continue Impressive Start As United Drop Further Points

Big things were expected of Leicester City this season under Brendan Rodgers, following their strong finish to last season’s campaign. They have started where they left off and following the opening seven fixtures, they are sitting in third only behind Liverpool and Manchester City.

This is an impressive start and can they now go on and secure Champions league football? This is proving a popular selection amongst punters using offers available at www.bettingsites.ng. Next up for Leicester is a difficult away trip to Anfield, as first takes on third.

Leicester have opened up with four victories, two draws and just one loss. The latter coming via the 1-0 away defeat to Manchester United. A game they will feel they should have taken some points from. They also started the season with two consecutive draws. Firstly against Wolves and then Chelsea. Leicester dominated the Wolves game and really should have taken maximum points. However, the away trip to Chelsea was a close game and a draw was a fair result in the end.

Leicester have then picked up victories over Sheffield United and Bournemouth. They also came from 1-0 down to beat Tottenham 2-1 at the King Power Stadium. This could prove to be a huge result for the side come the end of the season. They are also now coming off the back of a 5-0 home victory over Newcastle, as Jamie Vardy picked up a brace. They reduced the away side to 0 shots on target as they continue their incredible start to the Premier league season.

This is a stark contrast to Manchester United, as following dropping further points to Arsenal, they have made their worst start in the Premier league for 30 years. United are currently 10th in the Premier league table and have a huge task on their hands if they are to push back into the top four this season. They again took the lead over Arsenal before playing out a draw and losing further points. United have picked up nine points to date, winning two games, drawing three and losing two.

They have also drawn with Wolves and Southampton to go with the recent Arsenal result. The defeats coming via a 2-1 loss at home to Crystal Palace and a 2-0 loss away at West Ham. Manchester United had started this season with an impressive 4-0 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford with big things expected to the side moving forward. The next victory came following the 1-0 home win over Leicester City. They now have a promising run of fixtures, so will be hoping to climb back up the table.
