Senegal are the first team to book a place in the semi-final of the Africa Cup of Nations after pipping Benin 1-0 on Wednesday.
Both teams failed to make any impression in the first half as they hardly threatened their respectful goalkeepers.
However, in the second half, Idrissa Gana Gueye netted the only goal of the encounter in the 70th minutes after a swift interchange of passes with teammate, Sadio Mane.
Benin was reduced to 10-men after Olivier Verdon brought down Mane at the edge of the penalty and was issued a red card.
The Teranga Lions scored a second goal through Mane only for the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to disallow the goal.
All efforts for the Beninese to equalise proved abortive as the final blew the final whistle.
