The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup has seen some emotionally tingling moments from thrillers, to controversies, to humiliations… the part concerning humiliation is where USA Women have focused their expertise in this tournament. USA Women saw off Thailand 13-0 in their first game of the tournament, breaking all kinds of records and sending shivers in the spines of the other teams in the tournament.

Jillian Ellis team had a wonderful game, taking 40 shots allowing their opponent just two but they were heavily criticized, rightly so, for a lack of respect for the opponent during their many celebrations.

Sweden, drawn with USA have already booked a spot in the Round of 16 along with their Thursday opponent. The Europeans have had a good campaign so far beating Thailand 5-1 and seeing off Chile 2-0.

They lie second in group F only behind USA in terms of goals difference. Sweden will be looking to get a win in order to finish top of the group but this seem to be a near-impossible task as they’re coming up against a USA team who are eager to eat anything they see on their way.

As expected, USA Women are clear favourites to scoop all three points. They’re the favourites to win the tournament and are ruthless in front of goal. This is why they’re valued at just 1.26 to get a win over the Swedes.

Sweden, on the other hand, are seen to possess the quality to shock their opponents but the keyword here is “shock”, hence they’re priced at a very careful 12.00 to get a miracle in Le Havre on Friday night. A draw is also another possibility as it is very likely Sweden will tighten their defence up against Alex Morgan and Company, this is at an odd of 5.75.

USA have conceded just two shots on target in 180 minutes of football so far in this tournament and as they’re valued to win, the odds on both teams picking up at least a goal each is priced at a whooping 2.5 while the possibility of at least one of both teams not getting a goal is deemed very likely but possible at 1.585.

For the game to see Over 2.5 goals, odds are placed at a relatively low 1.74 meaning the game is highly expectant of goals galore. Two goals and below to be scored is at 2.15.

INTERESTING PICKS…

USA are fancied to score in the first 15 minutes at a whooping 3.74 and in the last 15 minutes of the 90 at 2.20. Top scorer Alex Morgan is placed at 1.95 to score at anytime.

Betting Tip

USA are clear favourites in this tie. They’re the favourites to win the tournament. They’ve won each of their last eight games scoring 39 goals in total and they’ve kept a clean sheet in all of their previous six games. If they play at full strength in this game then Sweden stands very little chance of getting any result at all. We fancy a -1 handicap win for USA placed at 1.81.

All odds are correct at the time of publish. Please game responsibly.
