Barcelona set to complete Lenglet deal

Barcelona is set to complete the first signing of the summer as they opted to sign a French defender, according to report in Mundo Deportivo.

Clement Lenglet has been superb for Sevilla this season and the La Liga Champions is willing to meet his release clause of €35 million.

Lenglet, 22, is willing to sign a 5-year-contract with Barcelona and become their first signing in the summer if the deal is done.

Samuel Umtiti future is not certain with Barcelona and there are several clubs interested in signing him.

Barcelona has set his release clause to be €60 million and Umtiti has demanded another club to activate it but Barcelona has stalled after failing to meet his demand.

A report in Marca claimed that Umtiti wants to receive the same wage as Gerard Pique and the Catalan side is unwilling to listen to his offer.

Barcelona is already planning for the future with Umtiti as they on the verge of signing the Sevilla centre back.

The signing of Lenglet will be of a good advantage to Barcelona in the nearest future he could be a replacement for Pique if Umtiti stays, considering the fact that he is one of the most promising centre defenders in La Liga.
