Barcelona fans want Luis Enrique out in the summer

Despite leading the team to a fantastic treble in his first season at the club and winning the double the season after that, the majority of Barcelona fans believe current coach Luis Enrique has given the club all he can as a manager and it’s now time to take the exit door.
After a poor start to 2016/2017 that saw the team go six points behind leaders Real Madrid at the top of the table with Los Blancos having a game in hand, and the team playing really badly in some occasions that saw them get dominated vs smaller teams like it was against Real Sociedad, a poll was carried out by BarcaLens on our official website to see the stance of the fans on the future of the successful coach and it was not a good one.
In the poll that was conducted on our website, a total of 1,834 BarcaLens readers cast their votes. The question on the ball was “Should Luis Enrique Continue As Barcelona Coach Next Season?” and the result wasn’t a close as the clear majority picked “NO” for an answer.
Among the 1,834 voters who took part in this exercise, a total of  1,135 fans believed that Luis Enrique should not be Barça coach for the 2016/2017 and picked “NO” for an answer. That’s a staggering 61.9% of the voters. So judging by the average, we can say a good 61.9% of Barça fans want Luis Enrique to leave the club after this season comes to an end. Meanwhile, the other 699 fans believed Luis Enrique deserves to continue being boss as there were just two options in the poll, that’s 38.1%.
Luis Enrique has come under severe criticism of late regarding his tactical approach to games, his style of play, mysterious starting teams and has been accused of being stubborn most of the time by some fans. The fact is that there is a huge possibility these fans get what they want as Luis Enrique’s contract ends at the end of the season and, as sources say, there have not been any talks about him renewing his contract. It’s still open, he could renew and there’s a possibility he wouldn’t, but right now, it seems more like he won’t be continuing as Barça’s boss for next season.
Luis Enrique Martínez is an icon for FC Barcelona as both player and coach, he made 207 appearances for Barça during his time as a player and has seen great success since returning as a coach for the 2014/2015 season from AS Roma, winning the treble in his first season, he’s won an astonishing 8 titles out of a possible ten making him one of the most successful Barça managers ever in terms of average titles won.
The result of the poll can be seen below:
