Barcelona vs Deportivo La Coruna: La Liga Match Preview

Barcelona vs Deportivo Match Preview
After a disappointing 4-3 loss in their last game against Celta Vigo at the Balaídos, Barça players return from international duties with the aim to return returning to winning ways when they take on Deportivo La Coruña in their 8th league game of the season at the Camp Nou.
Barça are currently fourth on the log, two points behind leaders Atlético Madrid and a win against Dépor will take them temporarily top of the table. Deportivo will be Barça’s second straight Galician opponent and they will come into the game with utmost care, with a little margin for error.
The last two meetings between these two clubs at the Camp Nou over the past two seasons ended in similar fashions as Barça went 2-0 up in both games but ended up playing a 2-2 draw at the end, however, the hosts will be missing a crucial figure in both games in Lucas Pérez who recently left the Galician club to join Arsenal.
TEAM NEWS

FC Barcelona will be happy to welcome back two key first team players in defender Samuel Umtiti and talisman Lionel Messi to light training and they might just be fit in time to return to the team. Both players have been crucial to Barcelona this season but have sat out the club’s last three games through injuries. Umtiti is very likely to be 100% fit and will surely play while Messi might have a few minutes at the end of the game.
Luis Enrique would have had a full squad to pick from with Messi and Umtiti returning in time but he was unlucky to receive injury news on Jasper Cillessen, Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto after the international break whilst midfielder Ivan Rakitic who will be out with an Achilles injury for returns. Aleix Vidal and Jordi Masip are set to take their places.
For Deportivo, no major injury worries and the team will be fresh for the game as most of their players didn’t take part in the hectic international games.
