FC Barcelona will be looking to match or better their 7-0 win over Celtic in the first game of the 2016/2017 UEFA Champions League season when they take on German side Borussia Monchengladbach in their second group C game of the tournament.
Lionel Messi bagged a hat-trick against Celtic to help Barça to a historic 7-0 win but the star man won’t be available for the game against Borussia Monchengladbach as he’s out with a groin injury. Joining Lionel Messi in the injury list is defender Samuel Umtiti who picked up a knock in one of the club’s training sessions.
Luis Enrique has named his 20-man squad that will travel to Germany to face Monchengladbach but only 18 can make the game, Jordi Masip is almost certain to be dropped from the final 18-man squad while Luis Enrique might just consider keeping Aleix Vidal.
Ter Stegen is certainly going to start in goal while Sergi Roberto is very likely to continue at the RB spot with Pique-Mascherano partnership the most likely in central defence. Jordi Alba was rested at the weekend and is likely to start at left-back with Sergio Busquets, Rakitic and Iniesta trio in midfield set to return. Neymar and Suarez will lead the attack definitely and it’s likely Arda Turan will come in for Messi.
Here’s a chance to pick the lineup, 11 players you think should start the game against Borussia Monchengladbach.
