Leicester City Battle Southampton for Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa

By Augustine Akhilomen
Despite reports claiming that Southampton have concluded
plans to sign Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa to their squad, Leicester
City have confirmed that they are ready to thwart the deal in a bid grab
him.
The Nigerian international had an impressive performance
with CSKA Moscow last season both in the Russian League and the UEFA
Champions League where he scored vital goals that help his team win the
domestic league title.
Touted to replace Sadio Mane who recently joined Liverpool
on Tuesday from Soton, the former Kano Pillars star is left with the
choice of selecting between these two Premier League clubsides.
Besides, Leicester City are hoping to fortify their squad
before the commencement of the Champions League and have table an
improve bid of £15m for Musa in a bid to ward off Southampton.

Although it is yet to be seen whether the Super Eagles
player would jump straight to the offer or remain with CSKA Moscow,
however, it is believed that he has his eyes set on playing with one of
Europe’s best teams.
